Opal was a student at Warburton Hill School, Forks Township, Sullivan County, Pa. in 1918 and 1919. The teacher in 1918 was Joseph A. Marshall, and in 1919 the teacher was Blanche K. Kester. Her husband Glen Hunsinger was a student at the same time at the same school. This information was given to me by Victor Vough, who obtained it from his aunt. Source: Obituary of Mrs. Opal A. Friday, July 24, 1981, at the Arnot-Ogden Hospital in Elmira, NY., following an extended illness. She was born December 8, 1910, in Dushore, the daughter of Ernest and Annie Norton Vough. She was a member of the Canton Ecumenical Parish; a member of the Canton Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 71; the American Legion Auxiliary of Troy, and the Ladies of the Moose, Canton Lodge. She and her husband observed their 51st wedding anniversary on Oct. 8, 1980. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Miss Esther Vough and Mrs. George Kruse, both of Dushore RD 1, and Mrs. Harold Miller, of Waverly, NY.; a brother, David Vough of Dushore RD 1; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Morse and Kleese Funeral Home, 40 N. Center Street, Canton, with lay Clergyman William T. McNett officiating. Burial will be in the Reformed Cemetery in Overton. Friends may call Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday at 7:30 p.m. by the Canton Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 71. Pallbearers were Bruce Wright, Andy Murray, Leo Kelley, Richard Hertel, Mike Kaznowski, and John Osipovitch.

Gertrude M. Vough, affectionately known by her family and friends as "Aunt Gertie," 79, of Towanda, Pa., passed away Wednesday morning, June 2, 2004, at Memorial Hospital, Towanda, Pa.
Born February 2, 1925 in Towanda, Pa., she was one of fourteen children of the late Frank and Minnie Strope McNeal.
Gertrude was formerly employed for many years as a waitress by several Towanda area restaurants.
Gertrude possessed great love for her family and enjoyed completing embroidery work.
Surviving are: her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Wanda Weiss of Monroeton; a grandson, Frank Weiss and his wife Lisa Weiss of Monroeton; two great-grandchildren, Frank and Ashley Weiss; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank M. Vough on January 1, 1954 and by two grandsons, Kurtis Robert Weiss in 2003 and Vincent Lee Weiss in 1968.
A graveside service will be held Friday June 4, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa. with Rev. Ronald Troup, pastor of the Monroeton United Methodist Church, officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, Towanda, Pa.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Manor Patient Activities Fund, RR 3 Box 322, Troy, Pa. 16947 in Gertrude M. Vough's memory.
