Individual Note: The 1930 census lists Russel H. Holdren, 27 living in Green Twp., Clinton Co. PA with his family. Living with him are his wife Margaret E., 23; son, Russell J., 7 yrs. 2 months; son, Merrill E., 4 years 11 mo.; Grace, 3 yrs 7 mo.; Anna M. 1 yr 10 mo. They rent the house and it is a farm, no rental fee listed. Russell was 19 when first married and Margaret 15. All born in PA. Russell is a farmer. (April 14, 1930; E.D. 18-14; Sheet 3B).

Individual Note: Merrill E. Holdren, 82 of 209 Smith Street, Avis, died Saturday, November 17, 2007 in the Manor Care Health Center in Jersey Shore.
Born April 23, 1925 in Rote, Pa. he was the son of Russell Holdren and the former Margaret Shaffer.
Merrill is survived by his wife the former Thelma L. Fye. They were united in marriage June 4, 1944 in Madisonburg, Pa.
Earlier in his life he was employed by Piper Aircraft. He and his wife were self-employed farmers in Sugar Valley and from 1965-1987 they farmed in the Nippenose Valley.
Also surviving is a daughter, Judy L. (Daryl) Renninger of Williamsport, 2 grandsons, Dale (Laura) Renninger of Shepardstown, West Virginia and Jamie (Tanya) Renninger of Duboistown, 1 great grandson, Tyler Renninger, two brothers, Donald Holdren of Loganton and Elwood Holdren of Montgomery, 5 sisters, Grace Nicholas of Tylersville, Anna Mae Brungard of Loganton, Pearl Gunsallis of Del City, Oklahoma, Doris Merrill of Loganton and Freda Rocky of Loganton.
Merrill was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Holdren Jr.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 21 at 10 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park. The Rev. Malcolm Benton will officiate.

He lives adjacent to the Joshua Robbins family. The John and William Richards families live just a few houses away.
The 1860 states that Rudolf Long and his family live in Jordan Twp., Lycoming Co. The family now consists of William, 20; Daniel, 22; Sarah, 15; Mary, 13; and Rebecca C. 1 (who is actually thought to belong to the John R. Winders family). Living adjacent are Rudolf's son, Abram Long, 31 and his wife Esther, 31. Son, Hiram lives 2 houses away with wife Margaret and family. They are believed to live in the same location (Unityville) as 1850, since Jordan Twp was formed in 1854.
