     William Lawrence Chaapel, son of Franklin Buckley and Mahala (Wheeland) Chaapel, was born on 4 Jan 1872 at Rose Valley. He married Mary Plank.

     The 1930 census list William B. Chaapel, 30 living in Gamble Twp., Lycoming Co., PA with his family. Also living with him is his wife, Margie E., 30; son, Allen, 6; and daughter, Shirley, 1 year 3 month; also his uncle, Van Amburg Chaapel, 77 who is single. Mr. Chaapel own his farm. All born in PA.

One of the Chaapel daughters was married to Bertram G. Dunlop, Jr., had sons: Gary and Bryan, daughter, Margie. Bertram G. Dunlop, may have been originally from Haddonfield, NJ and the son of a Mrs. Olive D. Dunlop. He may have had a sister, Olive Janet Dunlop who married Richard O. Bell (son of Roscoe Bell of Williamsport). The late Bertram G. Dunlop, Sr. was from Pottsville, PA.

Lura C. Hartman, 90, of 25 Calebs Road, Cogan Station, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at the home of her daughter. Her husband, Harry Hartman, died Feb. 11, 1981. She retired from the former H. Warsaw and Son and previously worked for Flook's Market. She was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness. Born July 12, 1910, in Gamble Township, she was a daughter of William and Mary Plank Chaapel. Surviving are two daughters, Wanda Y. Kurtz of St. Charles, Mo., and Joyce E. Smith of Cogan Station; two sisters, Jean Freeman of Placentia, Calif. and Dorothy Dangle of Montoursville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Spitler's, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.

Constance L. Waltz, 58, of 6570 Route 973 E., Cogan Station, left her earthly home to be forever with her Lord on Jan. 23, 2002. Born in Williamsport March 17, 1943, she was the daughter of Herbert and Dorothy Chaapel Fink.
Mrs. Waltz and her husband, Theodore J., owned and operated C.H. Waltz Sons, and they celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on Oct. 27, 2001. She was a member of Christ's Community Church in Williamsport and active in many capacities.
Surviving, besides her husband, is her mother, Dorothy Dangle of Montoursville; five daughters, Deanna G. (Richard) Boehret and Brenda R. (Michael) Hoover of Cogan Station; Juanita J. (Shawn) King of Milton, Amelia G. (David) Stauffer of Mt. Pleasant Mills and Rhonda L. (Eric) Grant of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Stephen (Gwen) Fink of Montoursville; three sisters, Patricia (Charles) Houseknecht of Troy, Sherry (Rich) Whelan of Williamsport and Virginia (Harold) Fraley of Muncy and eight grandchildren, Seth, Justin and Meagan Boehret, Cody, Casey and Canon Hoover, Tyler Grant and Courtney King.
Memorial services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Camp Susque, Susque Road, Trout Run, with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating, assisted by Pastor Michael Cantine of First Regular Baptist Church in Northumberland. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, Friday from 6-8 p.m.
