All born in PA. Albert is a gardener for the County. Margaret's mother was born in Scotland. Albert and Margaret have been married 2 years. (April 21 and 22, 1910)

The 1920 census list Albert J. Winder, 52, living in 140 Waller St. Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne Co., PA. E.D. 262 sheet 3A. Also residing there are his wife Margaret 36, son Donald G., 4 months and sister: Bessie, 36. All born in PA. Albert is a farmer on a truck farm. Margaret's mother was born in Scotland.

Warren C. Winder

Age 85, of Newark, DE, passed away at home Friday morning, April 27, 2007.

Warren was born in Pleasantville, NJ to the late Warren and Winifred Winder. He was a WWII veteran and served with the U.S. Army Military Railway. Warren was a trainman and conductor; he retired after 40 years with the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Along with his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his brothers, Elwood Winder, and Charles Winder; and sister, Verna Stawicki. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Hazel A. (Krauss) Winder; daughter, Winnie F. Hill; son, Warren A. Winder and wife, Kathy; 2 brothers, Jack Winder and Robert Winder; sister, Lillian Wagner; 4 grandchildren, Amber Szotkiewig and her husband John, David Hill, Warren and Jacob Winder.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing in celebration of Warren's life from 8:30-10 am, Friday, May 4, followed by a funeral service at 10 am, at Beeson Funeral home of Newark, 2053 Pulaski Hwy, Rt. 40. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Concord Township resident

Lillian A. Wagner, 83, of the Glen Mills section of Concord Township, a former Kingdom Hall volunteer, died Feb. 1 at Brinton Manor in Concord Township.

Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Wagner was a resident of Pleasantville, N.J., Wilmington, Del., West Grove, Chester County, and, for 28 years, Cape May, N.J., before moving to Glen Mills in 2006. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Wagner was a volunteer for many years at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ridley Park and Cape May. She was devoted to her family. Mrs. Wagner enjoyed sewing, gardening, studying the Bible and spending time with her grandchildren. She was the widow of Paul I. Wagner, who died in 2006, and the stepmother of John Wagner Sr., who died in 1991. Mrs. Wagner was the sister of the late Verna Stawicki and Charles Winder, Elwood Winder, Warren Winder and Robert Winder.

Survivors: Daughters, Diane Clark of the Drexel Hill section of Upper Darby, Linda Wagenborg of Glenolden, Loretta Pitts of West Grove; stepdaughter, Dorothy Richwine of Lansdale; stepson, Paul Wagner Jr. of Georgia; brother, Jack Winder of Delaware; 16 grandchildren.

Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Bethel Township.

Visitation: 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial: Edgewood Memorial Park, Concord Township.

     This John Winder is possibly the son of Joseph Winder and his wife, Elizabeth of the Frankford (7th precinct, 23rd Ward) section of Philadelphia according to the 1860 census. The children are: Jesse, 8; David, 7; John, 3; and Andrew J. 7 months. Joseph is a hotel keeper. All born in PA. Also living with them are a Cynthia Willcott, 56 and John Myke, 25. (June 7, 1860; Page 801)

Continuing in the 1870 census: Joseph Winder, 48 and his wife, Elizabeth, 40 now live in Upper Dublin, Abington Twp., Montgomery Co., PA. Joseph is a farm laborer. Their children are: David, 17; John, 13; Andrew, 11; Annie, 4. Also living with them is a Jonas Carr, 23, a farm laborer. All born in PA. (July 26, 1870; Dist. 283; P. 252)

The 1880 census lists John Winder, 23 and his wife, Lydia, 19 living in Abington Twp., Montgomery Co., PA. Also living with them is a Mary Yerkes, 63, the relationship states that she is a sister and boarder. Another Yerkes family lives adjacent. John is a farmer. All born in PA. (June 19-21, 1880; E.D. 1, P. 18).

The 1900 census lists John Winder, 43, and his wife, Lyddia W., 39 living at 2469 Cleveland Street, Philadelphia, PA. They have been married 20 years with 3 of 3 children living. The children are: Lizzie M. 19, b. Feb 1881; John R. 9, b. Oct 1890 and Ambrose J. 1, born May 1899. All born in PA. John is a teamster and rents his house. (June 1&2, 1900; E.D. 694; Sheet 2A)

They continue to live in Philadephia through 1920, they are no longer found in the 1930 census.
