Eleanor Louise Parke
Eleanor Louise Parke, 77, of Etters, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at her home. She was born Oct. 16, 1925, in Montoursville.
She was a graduate of Montoursville High School and spent her early years employed at Sylvania in Montoursville.
She was the widow of James Russell Parke.
Surviving are a son, Thomas Parke of Etters; two daughters, Darla Taylor and Dorothy Taylor, both of Etters; one brother, Raymond Fry of Montoursville; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Judith Eileen Cress; a brother, Clarence James Fry; and her parents, Clarence and Miriam (Swank) Fry.
Services will be held Monday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m., at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 827 Good Shepherd Road, Montoursville.
Contributions may be sent to The American Diabetes Association, 1104 Fernwood Ave., Suite 500, Camp Hill, PA 17011, or to the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind, 2843 N. Front St., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
Cremation arrangements by Cremation Society of Pennsylvania.

Harold E. Pittenger
Harold E. “Hank” Pittenger, 80, of 1900 Ravine Road, formerly of Montoursville, passed away Monday, August 6, 2007 at the Williamsport Home.
He was born September 9, 1926 in Farragut, the son of Jacob and Rachel Straw Pittenger.
Hank retired as a union representative for Conrail. He served during WW II in the Army. Hank was a member of the Williamsport Moose, Eugene Grafius American Legion Post #104, was a life member of the Montoursville Fire Co., 50-year member of the Eureka Lodge #335, the Williamsport Consistory, and the Shriners.
Surviving him are nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2007 at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville. Interment will follow in Montoursville Cemetery with military rights accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. There will be a Masonic service at 10 a.m.

Individual Note: The 1910 Federal Census lists William H. Winder, and his wife, Lizzie living at 166 Poplar Street, Dorrenceton Borough, Luzerne Co., PA. They have three children: Emma, 7; Theodore, 6 and MaryAnn, 1. William is a fireman on the railroad, he was born in PA, his father was born in NJ and his mother in PA. Lizzie and her parents were born in Wales. They have been married nine years and all children are living.
The 1930 census was searched for William Winder about 47 years old. No records.
