Pansy Pionati, age 92, of Naples, Florida died October 2, 2010 at Avow Hospice in Naples. Born March 28, 1918 in New Castle, Pennsylvania she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Filomena (Rich) Martini.
She married Arnold J. Vance on August 28, 1944. He died July 29, 1960. She later married Frank A. Pionati on November 15, 1963. He died August 20, 1993. She graduated from New Castle High School in 1936 and New Castle Business College in 1937. After graduation she worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Assistance. Later she was employed by Liberty Mutual in New Castle and retired in 1983.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Arnold & Ginger Vance and by two daughters and sons-in-law Linda Vance Scully and Robert Scully of New Castle, Delaware and Evelyn Vance and Brad Watson; two stepsons Francis Pionati and Barbara (Zimmerly) Pionati of Pittsburgh, PA and Louis Pionati of New Castle, PA; two stepdaughters, Marianne Hilke of Sharon, PA and Glorianne Pionati of Los Angeles, CA; three grandsons Ryan Scully, Steven Scully and Luke Watson; One step grandson Augustine Pionati. She had two step granddaughters Nicole Watson and Dana Watson Jones and her family.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law T. Anthony and Charlotte Pionati.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Beatrice Heagy and her brother Eugene Martini and infant brother Silvio Martini. She was also preceded in death by step grandson Mark Pionati.
Calling hours will be October 8 from 6-8:00 pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 3000 Wilmington Rd. October 9 a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. James Church in New Bedford followed by the burial service at St. James Cemetery

Beatrice E. Heagy, age 82, died on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002 at UPMC Passavant Hospital. She was born Jan. 15, 1920 in Pittsburgh. She is survived by two sons, Frederick J. Heagy of Harrisburg and David E. Heagy of Cranberry Twp.; a daughter, Dolores J. Heagy of Lawrenceville; a brother, Eugene Martini of Philadelphia; and a sister, Pansy Pionati of Kansas. Grandmother of Teresa Jean, Angela Louise, David Joseph and John Michael Heagy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis F. Heagy. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Athanasius Church, West View at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow in North Side Catholic Cemetery, Ross Twp.

Carl T. Pacacha: Inducted in Duquesne University's Sports Hall of Fame in 1990, he captained the Dukes' 4th-ranked 1957 squad and fought in the Korean War. He later excelled as a senior tennis player, nabbing a gold medal at the National Senior Olympic Games in 2008.
