Althea B. Graham, 96, of Laporte, and a guest at the Williamsport Home, died Thursday, May 25, 2006, at the home.

She was born on April 12, 1910, in Upper Fairfield Township, the daughter of George and Anna Budd Brelsford.

She was the widow of William E. Graham, and had retired as a teacher in the Sullivan County School District.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Freund of Succasunna N.J.; a stepson, William E. Graham of Bradenton Fla.; a niece, Nancy DeWald of Montoursville; two grandsons, Peter and David; two step-grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Laporte Memorial Tree Fund, P.O. Box W, Laporte, PA 18626.

Arrangements are by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.

The 1900 census of Pine Creek Twp. Clinton Co. PA lists Millard Cryder, 42 and his family. Living with him are his wife, Clara, 38 b. Dec. 1861; son, Clarence, 19 b. August 1880; daughter, Bertha, 16 b. March 1884; daughter, Irena, 13 b. May 1887; and daughter, Helen, 8, b. June 1891. They have been married 19 years and 4 of 6 children are living. Millard is a farmer and owns his farm. All born in PA. Bertha is a house servant. (June 12 & 13, 1900; E.D. 26, Sheet 6)

The 1910 census of Clinton Co. PA lists Millard F. Cryder, 54 and his family living in Pine Creek Twp., Clinton Co., PA. Living with them are his wife, Clara E. 49; son, Clarence, 28; daughter, Rena and son-in-law, Robert S. Bowers and their children, Walter W. Bowers, 4 and Stephen M. Bowers, 2. Millard and Clara had 6 children, 4 of whom are still living; they have been married 30 years. Millard is a farmer. All born in PA. Robert Bowers works as a weaver in a woolen mill. Clarence is a farm laborer. Robert and Rena have been married 4 years and both children are living.

The 1920 census lists Clara Kryder, 59, widowed, living at 114 Washington Street, Lock Haven, Clinton Co., PA. She owns the house and has apparently rented part of it to Jennie Hubler, 38; Joseph Bowen, 58; and Charles Gaugler, 20. Clara's mother was born in Germany. Clara is not employed.

The 1930 census lists Linwood T. Smithgall, 10, living with his grandmother, Clara Kryder, 68 at 114 Washington Street, Lock Haven, Clinton Co., PA. Both born in PA; neither is employed. Clara owns her house which is valued at $2000.
