     The 1900 Federal Census lists John A. Nuhn, 32 and his wife Elizabeth M. living at 15 Crosby Street, 2nd Ward, Queens Boro., NY. They have two daughters, Ruth 8 and Gertrude 6. All born in NY. John is a clothing cutter. John's parents were born in NY. Elizabeth's parents born in Germany. John owns his home but it is mortgaged. (June 1, 1900; E.D. 642; sheet 1B)

The 1910 Federal Census lists John Nuhn, 42 and his wife, Elizabeth, living at 18 Yale Avenue, 2nd Ward, Queens Boro, NY. They have two daughters, Ruth 19 and Gertrude 16. They have been married 20 years and both children are living. John is a clerk in court. (April 10, 1918; E.D. 236; sheet 5A)

The 1920 Federal Census lists John H. Nuhn, 52 and his wife Elizabeth, living at 406 Charlotte Place, Evergreen, Queens Co., NY. He rents his house. Both their fathers were born in Germany. The 1930 Federal Census lists John H. Nuhn, 62 and his wife, Elizabeth, 60 living with the Conrad W. Diehl family at 215 Morris Avenue, Rockville Center, Nassau Co., NY.

     The 1880 Federal Census lists a John H. Nuhn, 37 and his wife Elizabeth 35 living on Fifth Street in Manhatten, NY. They have four children: John H. 13; Elizabeth, 11; Peter, 8; and Frederick W., 1. John is a tailor and was born in Germany. Elizabeth and the children were born in NY. Oct 1871 and Frederick W. 21, b. Jan. 1879. Peter is a machinist and Frederick is a presserman. They are all single and were born in NY. Their father was born in Germany and their mother born in NY.      The 1900 Federal Census lists Philip Diehl, 30, head of the household and his wife, Mary, 25, living at 279 Nimrod Street, 28th Ward, Brooklyn boro, Kings Co., NY, NY. Philip was born in July 1869 and Mary in September 1874. Their children are: Conrad, 8, b. July 1891; Henry 5, b. June 1894; Sophie, 3, b. July 1896; and Frederick 2, b. March 1898. All the children were born in NY. Four of five children are living and they have been married 10 years. Philip is a Glass Blower. He rents his house. Philip is a truckman in his own business. He owns his house. Conrad is a House Architect; Henry is an office boy in a brush factory.      The 1860 census for Conoy Twp., Lancaster Co., PA lists John Nichols, 53, and wife Mary Ann, 40 , with the following children: Charles M. 23; Theophilus, 18; Calvin R. 12; L. Amanda, 12; Sarah M. 9; Willis C. 1 or 7. John is a shoemaker. Charles is a school teacher.

The 1870 Federal Census lists Calvin R. Nichols, 22, b. in PA, a painter living in the East Ward of Lewistown, Mifflin Co., PA. He lives with the Emmanuel Hamilton family, who is a shoemaker. (June 21, 1870)

The 1880 Federal Census list a C.R. Nichols family living in Chapman Township, Snyder County, PA. They are C.R. Nichols, 32 and his wife Lucetta, 24, both born in PA. They have three children, Albert 5; Mary 3; and Elizabeth E. one month old, born in May. C.R. Nichols is a painter and does not know where his parents were born. Lucetta cannot write, she was born in PA. (June 22, 1880)

The 1900 Federal Census lists a Calvin R. Nichols, and his family living at 1267 Fourth Street, Williamsport, Lycoming Co., PA. Also living with him are his wife, Lucetta, b. ; children: Albert B. 25, b. Apr 1875; Mary L. 22, b. Oct. 1878; Sarah E. 20, b. Mar 1880; Laura S. 18, b. Apr 1882; Edgar S., 14, b. May 1886; and Edith S. 10, b. Dec 1889. Calvin and his son Albert are painters. All born in PA. The house is rented. They have been married 26 years and six of eight children are living. The 1910 Federal Census lists Calvin R. Nichols, 62 and his wife, Lucetta, 57, living at Scott Street, Williamsport, Lycoming Co., PA. Their children are: Elizabeth, 29; Sarah, 26 and Edith, 20. Sarah and Edith are weavers in a silk mill. Calvin is a paper hanger in his own shop. The house is rented. They have been married 37 years with six of eight children living. All born in PA except Calvin's father who was born in Germany and mother in England. All are educated. (April 20, 1910; E.D. 96 ; Sheet 6B)

The 1920 Federal Census lists Luceta, 66, widowed living at 1559 Scott Street, Williamsport, Lycoming Co., PA. Her children are: Elizabeth, 37; Edith, 33. Elizabeth is a bookkeeper in a clothing store and Edith is a weaver in a silk mill. All born in PA All are educated. (January 10, 1920; E.D. 99 ; Sheet 8A)

     Obituary from the Williamsport Sunday Grit, December 8, 1929.
Nichols - Mrs. Lucetta Nichols, widow of the late C.R. Nichols of 1543 Scott Street died Wednesday afternoon at her home. Mrs. Nichols, 74 years old, left the following: Mrs. J. R. Durkin; Mrs. Dudley Markel; Mrs. W.J. Hunter; A.B. Nichols; E.E. Nichols, all of this city; and Elizabeth Nichols at home. Funeral services were held yesterday at the home; Rev. J. Connelly officiating. Burial was made in Mound Cemetery.

The 1880 Federal Census lists a John Nichols, 38 and his wife Catharine, 40 and their children living in Chapman Twp., Snyder Co., PA. Their children are: Lucinda E. 14; Theo. Holmes Nichols, 11; Howard V. Nichols, 9; Laura A. Nichols, 2. John is a school teacher. (June 19, 1880; E.D. 149; P. 48)

The 1890 Veterans Schedule lists a Theophilus J. Nichols of Mahantango, Juniata Co., PA with kidney and liver disease. Enlisted Sept 27, 1864, discharged June 2, 1865. Private with Company B, 51st Regiment PA Infantry.

According to the Civil War Pension index, his wife was a widow by October 22, 1908. He had filed as being an invalid August 9, 1879.
