Julia M. Irion
Julia M. Irion, 77, of 2606 Kehrer Hill Rd., Montoursville, died on March 1, 2007 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Julia was born June 1, 1929 in New York City the daughter of Joseph and Emily Howard.

Julia and her husband, John W. would have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary June 22. She was a graduate of Williamsport High School in 1947, assisted her husband with the operation of the family dairy farm in Upper Fairfield Twp., was a member of Heilman United Methodist Church, and was an active in PO of A., a 4 H Leader, Committee Woman for the Democratic Party, Huntersville Senior Citizens, Allegheny Grange, an officer for the AFSCME Sub Chapter 8603 and active in working out at the gym for the past 23 years.

Surviving her besides her husband is a daughter, Judy (Craig) Fortney of Bloomsburg, a son, John W. II (Dianne) of Montoursville; a brother, Joseph Hagey of Port Charlotte, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, 10 nieces and nephews and 24 great-nieces and nephews.

Predeceasing her was a son Jerry in 1996, a brother George and a sister, Grace.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 5, at the Heilman United Methodist Church, 2792 Kehrer Hill Road and Heilman Road, Montoursville, with the Rev. Donald E. Yorks officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, March 4 and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.
