     The 1930 Census lists a Dudley Markle, 52 and his wife, Laura 46 living at 856 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport, Lycoming Co., PA. Dudley has a son, Carl, 15 and a daughter, Verna 12. Dudley was 25 when first married and Laura 43. Also living with them is an Elizabeth Nichols, 30 (who is Laura's sister). All born in PA. Dudley does laundry at home. Dudley owns his house which is worth $7500. (April 8,1930; E.D. 41-79; Sheet 10B)

Elvina I. Kline, 82, of Muncy, died Monday, January 1, 2007, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Center.

Born July 22, 1924, in Huntersville, she was a daughter of the late Harry A. and Helen C. Johnson Reeder. Her husband of 29 years, Clifford D. Kline, died in 1982.

Elvina retired from the Muncy Valley Hospital. She attended the Moreland Baptist Church and enjoyed music and singing.

Surviving are a son, Gary A. (Robyn) Kline of Linden; a daughter, Danette K. (Rick) Sones of Huntersville; a daughter-in-law, Karen Markle; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Elvina was preceded in death by a son, Calvin E. Markle; a daughter, Virginia L. Kline; a brother, Quentin C. Reeder; and a sister, Betty I. Whitmoyer.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Moreland Baptist Church, 118 Moreland Baptist Road, Muncy, with the Rev. Dr. Paul Fitzgerald and the Rev. Carl Harris co-officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Montgomery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville.

Mr. Leroy Cortez, 85, of Meridianville, formerly of Ellwood City, Pa., and New Castle, Pa., passed away at his residence on Thursday.
Mr. Cortez was born on March 3, 1925, in Ellwood City to the late Frank and Filomena Keevis Cortez.
Mr. Cortez was Catholic by faith. He was a member of the VFW Post #252 and the American Legion Post #157.
Leroy was a well known musician in the area. He played the guitar and was the lead singer for his band "Leroy Cortez & The Outlaws."
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Bruce A. Irwin of Meridianville; one son, Charles Ray "Rat" Cortez of Meridianville; three grandchildren, Tim and wife Nole Mihalko, Jeff and Tyler Cortez; four great-grandchildren, Anthony, Mikala, and Nole Mihalko and Sidney M. Cortez; one sister; Esther and husband John Kati of Zelienople, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty Louise Cortez in 1963; his second wife, Susan L. Young Cortez in 1979; his third wife, Vera DeCecio Cortez in 2008; a granddaughter, Kelly Rae Cortez Reese, four sisters, Rose Straw, Verna Barkette, Anna Rozzo, and Catherine Calderone; and eight brothers, David, Adolph, Elmer, Edward, Sam, John, James "Froggie", and Frank Cortez.
A blessing service was held Tuesday at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home with Father Lou Pascazi officiating. Interment was in the Holy Redeemer Cemetery with full military rites.

     The 1900 Federal Census lists William Breidinger, 61 b. May 1839, and his wife, Sarah, 59 b. Dec 1840, living in Clinton Twp., Lycoming Co., PA. Thier son, Joseph, 20, b. Feb 1880 and grandson, Harvey O. Fowler, 3 b. Feb 1897 live with them. William and Joseph are day laborers. Sarah can read but cannot write English. All born in PA. The house is rented. (June 22, 1910; E.D. 39; Sheet 10B)

The 1910 Federal Census lists William Breidinger, 71, and his wife, Sarah, 70, living in Clinton Twp., Lycoming Co., PA. William's occupation is listed as "Own Income" and Sarah is a servant for a private family. They have been married 50 years with all nine of their children living. All born in PA. William rents the house which is not a farm. (April 26, 1910; E.D. 34; Sheet 7A).

Jean L. Frazier

Jean L. Frazier, 64, of W. Fourth St., died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005 at her residence.

She was born Nov. 14, 1941 in Williamsport, the daughter of Robert S. and Helen P. Babcock Winder.

Jean was a chef for 20 years of the Fourth Ward Williamsport Fire Company.

She was a life-long member of the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church.

Jean was a social member of the Elks Club and Post 1.

She is survived by a daughter, Tina (Christopher) Burnette of Williamsport; three grandchildren, Nykeana, Felicia and Chanelle; five great grandchildren; a brother, John Winder of Williamsport; four sisters, Cecelia Hess of California, Robert Smith of Montoursville, Patricia Wasoff and Thelma Jacopetti, both of Williamsport.

Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

This census indicated that he attended school, and that both his parents were born in PA. Also enumerated in the household were James B., age 31; Florence, age 34; Omy, age 10; Harry, age 7; Catherine, age 3; and Clinton, age 1 yr. 7 mos. [NOTE: Pauline was incorrectly identified as a male.]

1920 CENSUS: On 6 Jan 1920, Pauline A. Showvaker was enumerated in Frankford Twp., Cumberland Co., PA, E.D. 16, as a 17 year old born in PA. This census indicated that both her parents were born in PA.
