Obituary from the Williamsport Sun-Gazette - Saturday, February 25, 2006

Anna M. Taber

Anna Mae Taber of Montoursville, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006 at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho. Mrs. Taber was visiting her son and family in Shoshone, Idaho when she became ill.

Anna was born March 10, 1917 in Williamsport, the daughter of Reuben and Mary Mae (Beyer) Stugart.

She graduated from Montoursville High School in 1935 and went to cosmetology school. She married Ralph Taber on Sept. 2, 1940. After his tour with the USMC, they made their home on the farm on Quaker Hill.

Anna Mae was a joyful homemaker, mother, gardener and farm wife. She worked hard and made it seem easy. Neat and organized, she always had time for family, friends, neighbors and the Warrensville Baptist Church. She and her husband moved from the farm to retirement at Montoursville in March 1978. Annual treks to Idaho to visit Don, Bev and the grandsons eventually grew to include grand daughters-in-law and precious great grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Don (Beverly) Taber of Shoshone; grandsons, Chris (Lynda), Darren (Amie) of Shoshone and Matthew Taber, a student at the Univ. of Idaho; great grandchildren, Ethan, Katelin, Martin, Moira, Patrick, Alex and Megan; sisters, Cora, Mary, Velma, Betty, Doris, Ruby, Verda and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her husband, Ralph in march, 2000, her parents and brothers, John and Geral.

A celebration of life service will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Pastor Pete Wilson will officiate. She will be laid to eternal rest next to her soul mate at Twin Hills Memorial Park, following the service. The family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service. Anna Mae’s western family and friends honored her memory in Shoshone on Feb. 24.

Memorials in her name to your favorite charity, the American Lung Association, or the Warrensville Baptist Church would be fitting to honor her life.
