Dean W. Moon
Dean W. Moon, 90, a resident of 230 Sunset Road, Muncy, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, in the Williamsport Hospital.
Born in Mill Creek Twp., Lycoming County, Pa., on Sunday, December 12, 1915, he was the son of the late Silace and Alice Mary (Evans) Moon.
He was the husband of Ellen B. (Fox) Moon, with whom he celebrated a 36th wedding anniversary on September 6, 2005.
Dean was the plant manager at Carey McFalls at Montoursville, Pa., from 1948 to 1976 at which time he retired. In his earlier years he was an avid farmer in the Mill Creek Twp. area.
He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church at Clarkstown, Pa. and a board member of the Webster Cemetery at Huntersville. Dean enjoyed gardening, attending rummage sales and was an avid NASCAR racing fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, neighbors and church members.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Roger D. and Carla Bower, Muncy, Malvern M. and Yvonne Bower, Williamsport, Pa., Scott W. and Sue Moon, Danville, Pa.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judi A. and Jack Yanosky, Elizabethtown, Pa., Yvonne M. and Wayne Koch, Williamsport. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Dean was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia J. Fry and Eleanor Mae Moon; two granddaughters, Donna Lee Austin and Mary Ellen Bower; two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Messiah Lutheran Church, Clarkstown, at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2006 with Reverend Carla Volland, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Webster Cemetery, Mill Creek Twp., Lycoming County. Friends may call on Sunday from 7 — 9 p.m. at the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 North Main Street, Muncy.
The family will provide the flowers. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church, 48 Second Avenue, Muncy, PA 17756.

Patricia J. Fry
Patricia J. Fry, 68, a resident of 117 C.P. Fry Lane, Muncy, Pa., passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2006 in the Williamsport Hospital following a brief hospitalization.
Born in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pa., on Sunday, August 1, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Slagenweit) Moon Moser and Dean W. Moon who survives her of Muncy.
She was the wife of Arnold M. Fry with whom she celebrated a 51st wedding anniversary on December 24, 2005.
Pat was a 1955 graduate of Muncy High School. She was employed as a rural mail carrier by the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 1994.
Pat was a life member of the Trinity United Methodist Church at Pennsdale, Pa. and a member of the Huntersville Senior Citizens. She enjoyed quilting and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Debra A. and James Trostle, Muncy and Denise D. Fry, Hagerstown, Md. She is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Lee Austin.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Pennsdale Trinity United Methodist Church, 658 Village Road, Pennsdale, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 with Pastor Bill Gibson, her pastor, and Reverend Tom Drick, her nephew, officiating. Interment will be in the Webster Cemetery, Mill Creek Twp., Lycoming County.
The family will provide the flowers. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the Pennsdale Trinity United Methodist Church, 658 Village Road, Pennsdale, PA 17756.

Richard M. Kurtz
Mr. Richard M. Kurtz, 73, of 1253 Butternut Grove Road, Trout Run, Pa. 17771, died Sunday, June 18, 2006 at Sycamore Manor Health Center, Montoursville.
Born May 8, 1933 at DuBoistown, he was the son of the late Jacob H. and Florence L. Noragong Kurtz.
Mr. Kurtz retired from PennDOT at Montoursville, on Oct. 30, 1992, after 21 years of service.
Mr. Kurtz was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal. He was a life member of the Eugene Grafius American Legion Post #104 at Montoursville, and was also a life member of the LeRoy O. Buck Post #7863, V.F.W. at DuBoistown.
He and his wife, the former Patricia A. Chubb, were united in marriage on March 3, 1956. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Mrs. Patricia A. Kurtz at Trout Run, are his two sons and daughters-in-law, Theodore and his wife Laura Kurtz of Montoursville, and Richard and his wife Cindy Kurtz also of Montoursville; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
In addition to his late parents, he was also preceded in death by his four brothers, Jake, George, Paul and Jack Kurtz and by his sister, Jane Kline.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services held. Private interment will be made at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery, at the convenience of the family.
Flowers will be provided.
Arrangements are being directed by the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport.

JANE KLINE
Jane R. Kline
Mrs. Jane R. Kline, age 80 of New Castle, DE, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at her home.
Mrs. Kline was born July 18, 1925 in Williamsport, PA, daughter of the late Jacob Kurtz and Florence Noragong Kurtz. A talented homemaker, she also greatly enjoyed knitting.
Her husband, Robert C. Kline, Sr., died in 1993. She is survived by 2 sons, Robert C. Kline, Jr. of Kirkwood and Joseph A. Kline and his wife, Lois, of Middletown; a brother, Richard M. Kurtz of Williamsport, PA; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10-11 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 am in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.

David A. Yeagle
David A. Yeagle, 61, of 708 Arch St., Williamsport, died Saturday, June 24, 2006, at the Williamsport Hospital. He was born October 9, 1944, in South Williamsport, a son of Andrew J. and Anna Mae Tebbs Yeagle.
David worked at Textron-Lycoming for 39 years in Oil Research Maintenance. He served as Shop Steward, and served two terms on the Union Committee for local 787.
A 1962 graduate of Williamsport High School, David was a member of Boy Scouts of America, Susquehanna Council, and was an adult leader in Scouting for 26 years. He helped set up various Camporees and was entering his 10th year of Cub Scout Day Camp, where he served on its Planning Committee as well as its staff, and with training.
Scouting activities included Brownsea Junior Leader Training; camping and activities committees; Campmaster Corps, and Venture Crew 124. He earned the following Order of the Arrow Awards: Ordeal Member, Brotherhood Member, Vigil Honor, and the Wood Badge. In 2001, he received Scouting’s highest award, the Silver Beaver.
He was involved in Black Powder for 30 years. David “Two Pipes” was a member of the Susquehanna Black Powder Club and the Shehequin Buckskinners. As a craftsman, he specialized in headdresses, pouches, and buckskin suits. He also crafted cradles for black powder cannons, often used at Scouting events. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Longbow Association.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jane L. Keller, with whom he has been together for 29 years; a daughter, Lynette R. (Joseph) Meekins and two sons, David P. and Clinton E., all of Louisiana; two stepsons, William (Julie) Keller, Jr., and David (Melissa) Keller, both of Williamsport; a stepdaughter, Ann Marie Keller of Williamsport; a sister, Ann Marie (Randall) Hartzel of Duboistown; three grandchildren, Michele, Julia, and Paul of Louisiana; and eight step-grandchildren, Theresa and Billy, twins, Joshua and Brandon, Myranda, Jordan, Nik and Megan.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Carl A. Yeagle; and two infant sisters, Connie Mae and Ruth Naomi.
The funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Pastor James W. Kasler of Sonshine Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
