Mary M. Stugart
Mary M. (Dalaba) Stugart, 72, of Williamsport and formerly of Cogan Station, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Sycamore Manor, where she was a resident since March.
Mary was born in Cherry Township, Sullivan County, on November 2, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Edwin J. and Margaietta M. (Green) Dalaba. Mary married Reuben J. Stugart, who died October 24, 1999.
Mary was a member of Balls Mills United Methodist Church, Balls Mills. She enjoyed doing puzzles and crocheting, but most of all Mary loved her family.
Mary is survived by four sons, Edwin J. Stugart of Montoursville, Reuben T. Stugart of Cogan Station, Harvey E. Stugart of Montgomery, and Michael C. Stugart of Trout Run; five daughters, Linda J. Shaheen of Montoursville, Vera E. Martz of South Williamsport, Sharon L. Hunter of Montoursville, Peggy M. Snellbaker of York, and Fay A. Rocky of Montgomery; 22 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Dalaba of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Edwin Dalaba of Nevada City, Calif.; two sisters, Lucy Gamble of Jersey Shore and Shirley Williams of Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by one brother, Martin Brayon, and two sisters, Florence West and Mae Miller.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 21, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Montgomery, with her pastor, the Reverend James R. Sunderland, Jr., officiating the service.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mary?s memory to the American Cancer Society, Lycoming North Central, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

Individual Note: The 1850 Federal Census lists Joseph Rine, 45 and his family living in Chapman Twp., Snyder Co., PA. Living with him are his wife, Catherine, 44; daughters, Elizabeth, 25; Anna, 23; Polly, 19; Harriet, 14; Catherine, 10; and sons: John, 21; Joseph, 17 and Peter, 12. Also living with them are two Kerstetter boys: Joseph, 5 and Jacob 2. (They are belived to be Elizabeth's sons). Joseph is a shoemaker and John is a boatman. Joseph's property is worth $150. They live near George Sheaffer and George Neirhood. (December 7, 1850; p. 15&16)
The 1860 Federal Census lists Joseph Rine, 64 and his family living in Chapman Twp., Snyder Co., PA. Living with him are his wife, Catherine, 54; daughters, Harriet, 18; Catherine, 16; Peter, 15. Joseph is a day laborer. His real estate is worth $150 and his personal property $75. (June 27, 1860; p. 385) [Research note: the census seems to be incorrect regarding the ages of Joseph and his daughters.]
