Marjorie B. Fry
Marjorie B. Fry, 73, of Muncy, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at the Williamsport Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 30, 1933, in Muncy, she was a daughter of Warren B. and Helen M. Houseknecht Bieber. Her husband of 52 years, Earl T. Fry, preceded her in death on June 18, 2004.
Marjorie was a member of the Pennsdale Trinity United Methodist Church and the Needle Work Guild. She was a loving wife and mother who extended her love to many who passed through her threshold. Marjorie enjoyed baking, canning and providing for her family. She also enjoyed the time she spent on various outings with her fellow classmates. However, her greatest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Surviving are four sons, Rod (Ann) Fry of Cogan Station, Tom (Debbie) Fry of Muncy, Woody (Ruth) Fry of Hughesville and Ted (Angie) Fry of Muncy; five daughters, Audrey (Jack) Schupp of Benton, Lorrie (Jim) Schools of Wyalusing, Virginia Bitler of Hughesville, Doris (Wayne) Wagner of Muncy and Melissa (Jeff) Thomas of Montoursville; three brothers, Robert “Rip” (Beaty) Bieber of Muncy, Carl (Dottie) Bieber of Virginia and Gene (Ann) Bieber of Florida; a sister, Meriam Bieber of Bloomsburg; and 21 grandchildren, Lora Fry, Amanda and Kristen Fry, Travis and Brandon Schupp, Colton, Savannah, Jordan and Mitchell Schools, Philip and Hannah Bitler, Jacob, Joshua and Zachary Fry, Tyler Wagner, Jerrett, Jamison and Jase Thomas, Joshua and Adam Gochnauer and Amber Fry.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St, Hughesville, with the Rev. Rob Ransom and Rev. Grace Marie Ransom co-officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to either, the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701, the March of Dimes at www.marchofdimes.com, or the Pennsdale Trinity United Methodist Church, 658 Village Rd., Pennsdale, PA 17756.

Robert L. Bieber
VETERAN
Robert L. “Rip” Bieber, 80, of 106 S. Washington St., Muncy, died Friday, March 30, 2007, at the Williamsport Hospital.
Born in Williamsport on Jan. 2, 1927, he was the son of Warren B. and Helen Meriam (Houseknecht) Bieber.
He and his wife, the former Beatrice Marie Mincemoyer, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Jan. 26, 2007.
A 1945 graduate of Muncy High School, Rip was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He worked as an assembler for 43 years at the former Sprout-Bauer (now Andritz), retiring in 1989.
Rip was a member of the Roland Ritter Post #268, American Legion, Muncy; the Edward Smith Post #3428, V.F.W., Muncy; the Loyal Order of Moose, Muncy Valley Lodge #866; and Sprout’s Quarter Century Club.
He was a member of Clinton Baptist Church, Montgomery.
In addition to his wife, Bea, he is survived by one son, Robert C. (Sherry) Bieber, Muncy; two daughters, Roberta (Ken) McClintock and Beverly (Jim) Koziol, both of Montgomery; two brothers, Gene L. Bieber, Winter Haven, Fla., and Dr. Carl D. Bieber, Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Meriam R. Bieber, Bloomsburg; his mother-in-law, Laura Mincemoyer, Milton; 5 grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
He was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie B. Fry, who died in March 2007, and his father-in-law, Clarence R. Mincemoyer.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be his pastor, Rev. Larry LeFeber. Burial with full military honors will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.
The family welcomes flowers; however, if desired, memorial contributions may be made to either Clinton Baptist Church, 60 Warren St., Montgomery, PA 17752, or the American Cancer Society, Lycoming Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

Melvin W. Drick, 90, of Fairfield Twp., passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Gatehouse in Divine Providence Hospital. He was born on Oct. 29, 1916 in Upper Fairfield Twp., a son of Joseph and Martha Springman Drick.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, and had farmed all his life in Fairfield Twp. On February 7, he celebrated his 31st wedding anniversary with his wife, the former Rebecca J. Way Hagenbuch.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a step son, Lynn W. (Kathleen) Hagenbuch of Campbell, N.Y.; two step daughters, Nancy H. Worden of Haddon Heights, N.J., Alice J. (John) Helder of Wrightsville, Pa.; five step grandsons, one step granddaughter, three step great granddaughters, and one step great grandson.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Elliot Drick; his second wife Jane Gruver Drick; two brothers, Eldon and Randall, and a sister, LaDora.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday March 10, at St. James Lutheran Church, 1679 Lycoming Mall Road, Pennsdale, with the Rev. Beverly D. Cotner, his pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Saturday from 10 – 11 a.m. at the church.

Dorothy H. “Dot” Chaapel, 85, of W. Central Ave., S. Williamsport, passed away Monday, March 5, 2007 in Williamsport Hospital.
She was born August 2, 1921 in Kenly, NC, a daughter of Johnathan J. and Bertha Phillips Sullivan.
Dot and her husband Jay Edward Chaapel recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church for 60 years.
For 18 years Dot was a store clerk at Curchoes grocery store.
Dot loved to knit, crochet and loved her family and grandkids and always looked forward to her families yearly reunion.
She enjoyed traveling twice a year to Micro, NC in May and August of each year to visit her family.
Surviving besides her husband Jay, is a son Jay Edwin (Dee) Chaapel of S. Williamsport; two granddaughters, seven great grandchildren, four step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren; six brothers and four sisters, Leland Sullivan of Port Charlotte, FL, Joseph Sullivan of Kinston, NC, Virginia Johnson of Micro, NC, Blanche Peele of Virginia Beach, VA, Charles Douglas Sullivan of Kinston, NC, Geraldine Gaylor of Micro, NC, Marverine Godwin of Micro, NC, Billy Sullivan of Garner, NC, Willy Thompson Sullivan of Nashville, NC, Dr. Gene A. Sullivan of Macon, NC.
She was predeceased by a grandson Jay Anson, two sisters, Creta Lane, Rose Kohut,
three brothers, Wilmer, Woodrow and Irving Sullivan.
Friends and relatives are invited to Dot’s Life Celebration service 10:30 am Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd. “A Life Celebration Home” 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport with her pastor Rev. Peter C. Wilson officiating. A visitation will be Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park.
Family suggests memorial contributions in Dot’s memory can be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, 42 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
