News Article from the Gazette Bulletin, Williamsport, PA December 6, 1910
DROWNED IN CREEK BY OVERTURNING IN BOAT...
Christopher Chapman was drowned yesterday afternoon in the Loyalsock Creek and his body recovered several hours later...body found in shallow water known as the "Riffles" about 2.5 miles above Slabtown...The unfortunate man was about 38 years old. He was not married. He was the son of Thomas Chapman, a venerable farmer, who lives on the Williamsport side of the creek...It had been Chapman's custom to daily row across the creek in order to obtain mail left at a box by the rural carrier...They are inclined to believe that Chapman was seized by a severe illness and that he was helpless when he tumbled into the water.
