     James D. Wentzler
James D. Wentzler, M.D., 86, of Church Road, Watsontown, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg where he had been residing the past few years.

Born March 24, 1921, in Montoursville, he was the son of the late Carl W. and Isabelle (McConnell) Wentzler. On March 21, 1975 he married the former Betty (Comstock) Fiedler and they have celebrated 32 years of marriage.

Dr. Wentzler graduated as valedictorian of his class at Montoursville High School and received his pre-med degree from Penn State University in 1942. He graduated in 1946 from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia and served a rotating internship from 1946 to 1947. He completed his anesthesiologist residency at the Mayo Clinic in 1953 and was employed by Divine Providence Hospital as an anesthesiologist until 1973, when he took a sabbatical and for six months worked at the University Klinik, Erlangen, Germany. He later retired from Evangelical Community Hospital in 1991. He continued to remain active in his profession following his retirement in many different states.

He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard, serving from 1947 to 1949 as a ship physician.

Dr. Wentzler was a member of the American Medical Association, the Diplomate Board of Anesthesia, Pennsylvania Medical Society, Christian Medical Society, Canadian and German Anesthesiologist’s Societies, and College of Physician’s Society, Philadelphia.

A skilled craftsman, he loved woodworking and refurnishing antiques. He was a talented painter and enjoyed various canoe trips over the years.

He attended Community Baptist Church, Montoursville.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, David Wentzler, Duluth, GA and George Wentzler, Boca Raton, Fla.; a daughter, Marilyn Wentzler, in Bucks County; a step-son Jack (Jolene) Fiedler, Watsontown; three grandchildren: Michael, Brandon, and Shauna Wentzler; three step-grandchildren: Ethan, Austin, and Gretchen Fiedler; two brothers, William (Elizabeth) and Joseph (Lois) Wentzler, both of Montoursville; and a sister, Mary (Albert) Lander, Williamsport.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Carl “Dutch” Wentzler.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Watsontown with Dr. Henry P. Johnson of Community Baptist Church, Montoursville, officiating. Burial will follow in Watsontown Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

The family suggests contributions in his memory be made to the Anesthesia Dept. of Jefferson Medical School through the Jefferson Foundation, 925 Chestnut Street, Suite 110, Philadelphia, PA 19107. Please designate “In memory of Dr. James D. Wentzler” with your memorial.

Age 67, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 17, 2007.
   
Bob was born in Wilmington to the late Warren and Winifred Winder, Jr. Bob was a 1958 graduate of Claymont HS; he worked for 50 years as a brick layer, most recently for Pettinaro Construction Co. He served in the US Army with the 25th Infantry Division from 1963 to 1965. He was a member of Brandywine Masonic Lodge #33 A+F+AM, American Legion Post #30-Stahl.
   
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Charles, Elwood, Warren; and a sister, Verna. Bob is survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara M. Winder; sister, Lillian Wagner of Pennsylvania; brother, Jack Winder of Delaware; sister-in-law, Helen Winder of Delaware; 8 step children; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 14 nieces and nephews.
   
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing in celebration of Bob's life from 9-10 am, Tuesday, October 23, followed by a funeral service at 10 am, at Beeson Funeral Home of Newark, 2053 Pulaski Hwy., Fox Run. Interment with military honors will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
