According to the NARA Revolutionary War Pension record for his father, Henry Holdren: Richard Holdren lives somewhere on the Chemung, NY.
The 1850 Federal Census lists a Richard Holdren, 54 and his family living in Big Flats, Chemung Co., NY. He is a blacksmith and is property is worth $1000. Living with him are Hannah, 26 b. in PA; John, 22 b. in NJ also a blacksmith; Theodore, 15 b. in NJ; James, 11 b. in NJ; Edward 3 b in NJ; and Harris 1 b. in NY.
The 1870 Federal Census lists Richard Holdren, 74 and his family living in Corning, Steuben Co., NY. Living with him are Elizabeth, 37 b. in NJ; R???? 14 b. in Michigan; and Catharine, 5 b. in NY. Richard is a blacksmith. (August 8, 1870; p. 146)
Richard ran a tavern in Sandyston, Sussex in 1848 and later in 1868
after returning from Big Flats, Chemung Co. NY. Moved there 1849.
