     The 1920 Federal Census lists Frank Vance, 38 and his family living in Youngstown, Mahoning Co., Ohio. Living with him are his wife, Mary, 28 and three children: Lena, 8; Sam 6 and Arnold 4. Frank is a mill wright in the steel works. Frank and Mary were born in Italy, the children were all born in Ohio.

The 1930 Federal Census lists Frank Vance, 48 and his family living in Pulaski Twp., Lawrence Co., PA. Living with him are his wife, Mary, 38 and two children: Lena, 18; and Arnold 14. Frank is a farmer on a truck farm. Frank was 28 when first married and Mary 18. Frank and Mary were born in Italy, the children were all born in Ohio. Frank immigrated in 1894 and Mary in 1910.

Sylvia N. Stauffer, 94, died at 2 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2004, at Misericordia Convalescent Home. She was the wife of the late Charles H. Stauffer. Born June 23, 1910, in York, a daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Smith) Beckmeyer, she was an active member of the former Faith Evangelical Reformed Church where she sang on the choir. Mrs. Stauffer is survived by a son, Charles J. Stauffer and his wife Lois of York; two grandsons, Joseph and James Stauffer both of York; and two greatgrandchildren, Jessica and Jason Stauffer, also of York. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2004, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc. (formerly Baumeister, Orcutt & Small), 863 South George Street, York with the Rev. Dr. John E. Morgan, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of York, officiating. Viewing will be 1:30 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Misericordia Convalescent Home, 998 South Russell Street, York, PA 17402.

     The 1930 Federal Census lists Charles H. Stauffer, 19 and his wife, Sylvia, 18 living at 361 Atlantic Avenue, York, PA. Charles is a repairer of type writers and Sylvia is a packer of hosiery. Charles was 18 when first married and Sylvia, 17. They live next door to Charles' parents. (April 17, 1930)

It appears that they had a child but none are living now. He is a grocery salesman. He was born in PA, she in Maryland. (E.D. 104, Sheet 16A, May 4, 1910)
