Rachel filed for Giles' Civil War Pension on September 18, 1869 as a widow.

The 1880 census lists Rachel Winder, 41 living in the adjacent to the home her parents Abel and Mary B. Clark in Shrewsbury Twp., Lycoming Co. PA. Living with her are her family: Alva B. Winders, 18; a daughter, Sarah U. Fox, 14; and Emma Winders, 7. Also living in her parent's house is Rachel's brother, Benjamin H. Clark, 38. Mrs. Clark is noted to have paralysis. Alva cannot read or write. All born in PA. Abel and Benjamin are farmers.

The 1900 census lists Rachel Winder (58, b. July 1847, widow) living in Shrewsbury Twp., Lycoming Co. PA with her granddaughter Rachel Winder, 10, b. November 1889. She rents her home. No occupation is listed both were born in PA as were their parents.

Burton A. Winder died from Copperhead Snake bite while lumbering in the
Mountains.

The 1900 Census of Shrewsbury Twp., Sullivan Co. PA lists the Burton Winder family. Burton, 38 b. Jan. 1862; Ida A., 29 b. July 1870; son Giles Tracy, 12 b. May 1888; daughter Rachel E. 10 b. Dec. 1889; son Daniel E., 8 b. 1892; son Charles Lee, 6 b. April 1894; daughter, Myrtle A. 4 b. July 1895; son Thomas B. 1 b. August 1898. Burton is a lumberman.
