Individual Note:
     The 1880 Federal Census listes Phebe T. Winder, 48; and her daughter, Frances A. 26; and her son, Theodore E. Winder 23 living in the 3rd Ward, District 1, Trenton, Mercer Co., NJ. Also living with them is John H. Carlisle, 23 and his wife (Phoebe's daughter) Acsah, 21 and thier daughter, Eva, 8 months. Phebe is widowed and keeps house. Frances is a millworker. Theodore and John Carlisle work in pottery. Acsah is also listed as boarding. Phoebe and her parents were born in PA. The children were all born in NJ (including John Carlisle) and their father in NJ also. They live at 434 Broad Street in Trenton. (p. 255A, 3rd Ward, 1st District; June 11, 1880).

The 1895 New Jersey State Census lists Phoebe T. Winder and her daughter, Francis Ann and son, Theodore E. living in Trenton, Mercer Co., NJ. Pheobe is over 60 years old; Frances and Theodore are both between 30 and 60 years old. Roll: V227_88; Page: 121 Line: 4.

The 1900 census list Phebe Winder living at 418 Broad Street, Trenton, NJ with her daughter Anna and son Edward.

According to the August 20, 1901 Trenton Times newspaper, Mrs. Phoebe Winder lives at 421 South Broad Street, Trenton, NJ.

The Sunday Trenton Times Advertiser (February 26, 1922) lists the death of Phoebe Winder on February 23, 1922 S.1 p. 12.

Individual Note:
     The 1920 census lists Theodore C. Winder, 64 and his mother, Pheobe, 87 living on Cherry Hill St. in Mansfield Twp, Burlington Co. NJ. He is retired and worked in town. It states that he and his mother and all of their parents were born in NJ. Theodore is single and his mother widowed.

The funeral of Acsah Chamberlain, who died on Wednesday, will be held from the residence of her sister, Mrs. Phoebe Winder, No. 434 South Broad Street, on Sunday afternoon at one o'clock. Interment at Riverview Cemetery.
Centenial Council No. 4 O.U. Daughters of America and Celestial Lodge No. 2, Dames of Pythias are respectfully invited to attend.

     The Federal Census of 1900 lists John Morris,42 and his wife Phoeby, 37 living on Canal Street, Plymouth Twp., Luzerne Co., PA. John was born Aug 1857 and Phoeby in Sept 1862. They have been married 20 years with four living children of the original six. Their children are: William E. 18 b. Mar 1882; Blanche V.A. 13 b. Nov 1886; and John S. 3 b. Aug 1896. John and his son William are laborers in a Coal Co. All born in PA. Their daughter Josephine E. is a servant for a family on the street; she lives several houses away. (June 4, 1900; E.D. 136; p. 95A)

John Morris and his family lived in Luzerne County, PA in 1910. John is listed as 52, Pheobe is 46 and a son, John is 13. John is a Stable boss in a coal mine. They live in Plymouth Twp., Luzerne Co., PA. They have been married 29 years, and only to each other. Of their six children only 4 are living. (May 6, 1910)

The Federal Census of 1920 lists John Morris,62 and his wife Phoeby, 52 living on 114 Poplar Street, Plymouth Twp., Luzerne Co., PA. Their son Sylvester, 23 lives with them. They work as laborers in a colliery (pit). (January 14, 1920; E.D. 190; p. 12B)

Individual Note:
     The 1930 census lists Nicholas Ottensman and his family living at 44 Allen Street, West Nanticoke, Plymouth Twp., Luzerne Co., PA. Nicholas owns his house which is worth $10,000. They do not own a radio. Nicholas' father was born in Germany all others were born in PA. Nicholas was 24 when first married and Josphine was 25. Their children are Harold, 18; Ruth, 16; Donald, 9; and Delbert, 3 years 6 months. All can read and write, except Delbert, of course. Nicholas is a carpenter in the coal mines and Harold is a laborer in the coal mines.


Obituary
Nicholas Ottensman, 83 of 46 Allen Street, West Nanticoke died yesterday at ?? (time) at Nanticoke State Hospital, where he had been a medical patient since Sunday.
Born at Newport township, November 9, 1884 he resided in West Nanticoke for the past 52 years. Mr. Ottensman was employed as a carpenter foreman at Bliss Colliery for many years retiring at the age of 65. His wife the former Josephine Morris, died in 1960. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, West Nanticoke.
Surviving are children, Donald, Mrs. Ruth Hilt, West Conshohockent, Pa; Delbert, West Nanticoke; and Harold, Dallas, Tx; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ervin Dymond, West Nanticoke; Mrs. Allan Dymond, Harvey's Lake; Mrs. Chester Stewart, Halden, NJ; William Ottensman, Irvington, NJ; 10 grandchildren .
Funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11 from the funeral home, 84 Prospect Street, Nanticoke. Rev. John Hamilton, paster of First United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Ceasetown Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday and Friday 7 to 10 pm.

Carl N. Tressler, 72, of Summerfield, Fla., a city native, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2000. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Born April 20, 1928, in this city, he was a son of Theodore Walter Christopher Tressler Sr. and Grace Minnie Violet Elliott Tressler. Surviving, besides his mother of this city, are three sons, Carl Jr. of Summerfield, Walter of Ocklawaha, Fla. and Frank in Arkansas; three daughters, Ann Koch of this city, Cindy Holly of Pedro, Fla. and Mary Alice Tressler of Ocala, Fla.; a stepson, Rodney Shick in Texas; a sister, Betty Tressler of this city; a brother, Theodore W. of this city; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald; and two sisters, Harriett Chapman and Eleanor Burkhart. A memorial service was held Thursday in Redeemer Lutheran Church
