Linda L. Como Alessio
Grove City homemaker had been insurance agent
Linda L. Como Alessio, a resident since 1966 of 401 Oakland Ave. in Grove City, passed away at 3:33 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after suffering an extended illness since 1999. She was 60.
Mrs. Alessio was born May 3, 1947, in Springfield Township to Daniel Como Sr. and Erla A. Smiley Como.
She was a graduate of Grove City High School Class of 1965.
A homemaker, Mrs. Alessio retired early due to her illness from her career as a licensed insurance agent for Allstate Insurance, Greenville, and was formerly an AFLAC representative in the Grove City area.
As a member of Church of the Beloved Disciple in Grove City, Mrs. Alessio belonged to the Altar Rosary Society and was a former teacher in the church religious education department.
She helped her husband coach baseball in a Grove City youth league. She was a very pleasant person who enjoyed her home and family.
Her husband, Paul F. Alessio, whom she married Oct. 1, 1966, survives at home.
Also surviving are: three sons, Mark Alessio and his wife Kay, Amherst, Ohio; Christopher Alessio, Grove City; and Major Paul E. Alessio Jr., Dover, N.J.; a grandson, Mitchell Alessio, Amherst; her mother, Erla A. Como, Grove City; three sisters, Teri Ketler and her husband Bruce, Grove City; Sissy Molnar and her husband Burt, Renfrew, Pa.; and Sharon Gilliland and her husband John, Grove City; a brother, Daniel Como Jr. and his wife Connie, Grove City; and a grandchild.
Mrs. Alessio was preceded in death by her father.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday (8-27-07) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, with a vigil service at 8:30 p.m. Friends will also be received from 9 a.m. to time of the Mass Tuesday (8-28-07) in Church of the Beloved Disciple, Route 208, Pine Township.
Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church with the Rev. Mark Hoffman, pastor, as celebrant.
