Herbert L. Beaver

Herbert L. “Honey” Beaver, 87, of RD3 Muncy, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born December 7, 1919, in rural Watsontown, he was the son of the late Herbert R. and Ocie (Egli) Beaver.On September 10, 1940 he married the former Loretta Jane Starr and they have celebrated 66 years of marriage.

He owned and operated Beaver and Sons Garage, Montgomery for over 30 years until retiring in 1981.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law: Dale L. and Janice Beaver, rural Watsontown; Richard E. and Lois Beaver, rural Muncy; a daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Thomas Parker, rural Muncy; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Goldie Snyder, Watsontown.

He was preceded in death by a brother, George Alfred Beaver and a sister, Elizabeth Garrett.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 12 noon at Friendship Baptist Church, McEwensville with the Rev. Jerry L. Caswell officiating. Burial will follow in Delaware Run Cemetery, Watsontown. Friends are invited to call at the church from 10:30 AM to noon on Monday. The family suggests contributions in his memory be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators, PO Box 628200, Orlando, FL 32862-8200.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville.

Dorothy's children are listed as Velma B. 6 and Harold F. 3 years, 8 months. Both men are widowed, Harry is a farmer. Dorothy is a housekeeper for a private family.         Robert E. "Bob" Egli, 76, Watsontown, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001 at the Williamsport Hospital.
       He and his wife, the former Margaret "Peg" DeWald, celebrated 52 years of marriage May 14th. He was a self-employed welder since 196
       A veteran of WWII, he served with the occupation forces in Korea. He was a 50-year member of the United Church of Christ, Turbotville.
       Born Jan. 4, 1925 near Twin Hills, he was a son of Osbert and Rachel Egli.
       Surviving besides his wife, are a son Robert E. of Ariz.; a daughter Kathleen B. Schmid of Danville; 2 brothers, Frederick of Huntersville and Lawrence of Hughesville; and 4 grandchildren. One of 13 children, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 6 sisters.
       Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, at Brooks’, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville with the Rev. Michael E. Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Turbotville Cemetery with full military honors.
       Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday evening.
       In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Turbotville Community Hall Corporation, PO Box 313, Turbotville, PA 17772.
