TROUT RUN - Harold F. "Bud" Swisher, 73, of 607 Steam Mill Road died Saturday, July 1, 2000, in the Williamsport Hospital, following a brief illness.His wife, the former Ruth E. Long, died Feb. 19, 1995.He retired in 1988 as a truck driver for Blue Diamond and was last employed by Agway Petroleum Products. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Navy in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Hepburn Baptist Church and a former member and deacon of the White Hall Baptist Church. He was a member of American Legion Post 268 and the Edward J. Smith Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3628, both in Muncy. Born July 20, 1926, in this city, he was a son of Harry F. and Dorothy Egli Swisher. Surviving are three sons, C. Walter Foust of Brazoria, Texas, David B. of Clearwater, Fla., and Randy L. of Cogan Station; two daughters, Eileen F. Greiner of Emmons, Minn., and Maria K. Izbinski of Emporium; a sister, Betty Foust of Muncy; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Betzer's, 108 N. Main St., Muncy, with the Rev. Mark Mahserjian-Smith, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Graveside military rites will be accorded by joint veterans organizations. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Elsie Viola Snyder, 59, of 152 Boak Avenue, Hughesville, died as a result of an automobile accident in Williamsport on Monday Nov. 24, 200
       She and her husband Robert E. Snyder, Sr. were married 37 years. She was born on April 24, 1944, and was the foster daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Egli.
       Elsie was a member of the Evangelical Friends Church in Hughesville and enjoyed being with and taking care of her grandchildren.
       Elsie is survived by her husband Robert E. Sr.; one son, Robert E. Jr. (Shelley) of Muncy; one daughter, Nancy (Brian) Snyder Murray of Hughesville; one brother, Butch Stepp; and five grandchildren. One brother, John Howard Stepp predeceases her.
       A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Monday at the Evangelical Friends Church, 137 South Third Street, Hughesville, with her pastor Rev. Dan Cale officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 5 to 6 p.m. Interment services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
       The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Evangelical Friends Church.

HUGHESVILLE - Mary A. Egli, 72, of 127 N. Second St., died Monday Dec. 11, 2000, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She and her husband, Lawrence O. L. Egli, observed their 53rd wedding anniversary Dec. 6. She attended the former Opps School, Moreland Township. She and her husband farmed in Muncy Creek Township until 1984. She was a member of Dairyman's League and the Hughesville Garden Club. Born Aug. 18, 1928 in Moreland Township, she was a daughter of Norman and J. Blanche Smith Nichols. Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Charles M. of Muncy; a sister, Dora Herr of Hughesville; three grandchildren, Tina Phillips, Charles Jr. and Candy Mae Woodside; and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at McCarty-Thomas', 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. James Savage and Tom Herr, her nephew, officiating. Burial will be in Muncy Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
