The Rev. Dr. Charles L. Winder, 77, formerly an area resident and currently of Robbinsville, N.C., died Thursday, April 3, 2003, in N.C. Born Jan. 23, 1926, in Muncy Creek Twp., he was a son of Charles Lee and Nancy Vera Montague Winder.
He and his wife, the former Harriet G. (Dolly) Waltman, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on Aug. 27, 2002.
Rev. Dr. Winder was the founder and president of the Dedicated Life Mission, Inc. He was a pastor, evangelist and author. He was a charter member of the Cornerstone Bible Church in Berwick, a member of the F.O.P. and the National Police Officers Association of America. Serving as a chaplain, he was active in the Boy Scouts.
He was a WWII Navy veteran and served with the Seabees in the South Pacific. He was a life member of D.A.V.
Surviving besides his wife are seven children, Judith A. (William, Jr.) Winner of Williamsport, Carol L. (Melvin) Bennett of Cogan Station, John B. (Dianna) of McAdoo, James P. (Anna) of Nescopeck, Peter C. (Faye) of Beresford, S.D., Phillip D. (Vera) of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Joanna S. (Keith) Carpenter of Griffin, Ga.; two brothers, J. Burton of Middletown, Del., and Ivan M. of Picture Rocks; 24 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with his son, Rev. James P. Winder officiating. Burial will be in Muncy Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Individual Note: Joe Lutz and his wife Cindy have been Greensburg residents for almost 5 years. He shares his home with his 18 month old son Andrew, and their Golden Retriever, "Chance". Currently, Joe is at home recovering from a spinal cord injury incurred December 2001. He continues to improve and only relies on a cane to move about. Prior to his injury, Joe had been in Medical System Sales for the past 18 years. He is a 1981 Graduate of Greensburg Central Catholic High School and a 1985 graduate of St. Vincent College in Latrobe Pa. While there, Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with a heavy emphasis on business administration.
