The funeral of Mrs. Harriet Pentz, will take place Sunday afternoon meeting at the home in Lower Fairfield Township at 1:30 o'clock. Mrs. Pentz was 82 years of age and is survived by seven children: Mrs. L.W. Baumgartner, Mrs. J.G. Gotschall, Mrs. D.T. Thomas, Mrs. John Peters of this city; George Pentz, Edward Pentz and Laird Pentz

     Williamsport Grit, Aug. 18, 1918;
Mrs. Sarah Ann Pentz, widow of Levi Pentz, died on Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. Swarm, of Fairfield township. She was 82 years old and left four sons and two daughters. Funeral this afternoon at 1:30 o’clock; interment will be made in the Edgewood cemetery.

Fischer, Ernest F.
Ernest F. Fischer, 64, of 336 Madison St. Shillington, died Saturday at 12:32 a.m in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Aug. 12. He was the husband of Marguerite J. (Smithgall) Fischer. Born in Williamsport, Lycoming County, he was a son fo the late Lawrnece and Margaret (Smith) Fischer. Fischer was employed as a manager by the former Hamilton Bank, Reading, retiring in 1973. He was a member of St. John Baptist De La Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington, where he was a comittee chairman of Cub Schout Pack 237 from 1964 to 1970. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal. he is also survived by a son, Ernest F. Jr.,Montrose Manor; and four daughters: Ellen M. wife of David Dunkelberger, Mohnton; Linda K., wife of Ray Sohn, Myerstown, Lebanon County; Brenda G., wife of Brent Keffer, Robesonia; and Janet F. Kramer, at home. Other survivors include two brothers, Lawrence and Charles, both of Williaimsport. There are also 19 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Christian Larue Fischer and a daughter, Kathy Marie Fischer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m in St. John Baptist Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.

     The 1840 Federal Census of Moreland Twp., Lycoming Co., PA lists a William Holdren (HALDRON).
1 male under 5 years old = John Holdren, son
1 male 30-40 years old = William Holdren, head
2 females under 5 years old = Sarah E. Holdren, daughter; Eliza Holdren, daughter
1 female 20-30 yeras old = Nancy Holdren, wife

The 1850 census of Franklin Twp., Lycoming Co. PA lists William Holdren, 40; his wife, Nancy, 25; John 15; Sarah, 12; Eliza, 11; Osten, 9; Lavina, 7; George, 4. William is a sawyer and John is a laborer.

A search of likely townships in which William Holdren might have resided was conducted for the census year 1860. He was not found in this census.

William Haldren 63 and his wife, Delila 47, live in Davidson Twp., Sullivan County in 1870 with their children, Jeremiah 11, Wesley 9, Margaret 6 and General 2. Also living with them is Edward Warner, 17, a laborer. William is a farm laborer.

The 1880 Census lists William Haldren, 75 and his wife Delilah, 60, living in Penn Twp. Lycoming Co with their children, W. Jerry, 20 and Wesley 18. Also, a granddaughter, Alyna S. Prescott, 16 lives with them. (June 2, 1880; E.D. 56, p. 4)

Also in the 1880 census of Davidson Twp. Sullivan Co. PA there is a Rachel Holdren, 57, a widowed carpet weaver. She was born in PA and her parents born in NY.
