Individual Note:
     The 1900 census lists Thomas R. Winder living at 402 Rural Avenue, Loyalsock Twp., Lycoming Co., PA. Also living with him are his wife, Josie E. b. March 1856; Wilber, 17; Bessie, 16; Walter R. 14. Thomas is a clerk. All born in Pennsylvania.

Thomas R. Winder was the Lycoming County Commissioner's Clerk in the late 1890s into the early 1900's.

Condition of Mr. Winder
Mr. Thomas R. Winder chief clerk in the office of the County Commissioners is very seriously ill at his home on the corner of Rural Avenue and Elmira Streets. For a long time Mr. Winder has been doing much more work than it was possible for him to continually do, in the endeavor to personally keep run of every detail of his office, and recently completely broke down. His condition has been very serious for some time, and had not materially changed at a late hour last night.

Thos. R. Winder Dies - After Long and Faithful Service Rendered the County
Thomas R. Winder, chief clerk in the County Commissioner's office died last Sunday morning at his home, No. 402 Rural Avenue. Mr. Winder was in his forty-sixth year, have been born December 4, 1858 in Upper Fairfield Township, this county. He is survived by his widow and three children - Wilbur E.; Bessie M.; and Rodney Winder. Out of respect to the memory of Mr. Winder the County Commissioner's decided to close the office until after the funeral. The Treasurer's office also closed the day of the funeral. For more than 10 years Mr. Winder had been employed in the Commissioner's office, and was well known all over the county. He was a thoroughly competant man, highly respected and greatly loved by a host of friends. The funeral occurred at his home Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. D.E. Burtter of First Congregational Church had charge. The county officials attended the body and there were also a large gathering of other friends and relatives. Floral tributes were profuse and of great beauty. Mxxx J.V. Bennett, W.F. Loach, G.M. Sones, George B. Wolf, H.S. Hower and W.E. Nickels Esq. seted as pallbearers. Interment was made in Wildwood Cemetery.
