Dorothy M. Stirrat, 97, of Loyalsock Twp. passed away quietly on the evening of Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Sycamore Manor Health Center in Montoursville after a lengthy illness.

She was born March 5, 1911 in Rockville Centre, Long Island, New York, the daughter of Frederick H. and Anna M. (Kohlhaupt) Maisch.

Dot graduated from St. Agnes Academy in Rockville Centre and the American Institute of Banking. She moved to Williamsport in 1954, when her husband joined Little League Baseball International. Dot was a member of St. Ann’s Church, The Guild, Alter and Rosary Society, Seniors Club, Divine Providence Hospital Auxiliary, Elks Club Ladies Auxiliary, and performed ancillary functions for Little League Baseball. She lived in Bradenton, Florida for 17 years and returned to Williamsport in 1994. She enjoyed travel, gardening, sewing, crafts, knitting, reading and spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert H. Stirrat in 1977 and by one brother, George Maisch. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Joan Risinger of Bossier City, Louisiana; Barbara (Robert) Pace of Montoursville; nine grandchildren: Bob (Lis) Barton, Tom (Beth) Barton, Mike (Kathy) Barton, Kathy (Dennis) Larsen, Kelley Barton, Sharon (Gene) Martini, John (Mary Beth) Pace, J. Brian Pace, and Susan (Kim) Hubbard. Also surviving are 15 great grandchildren: Rory, Daniel and Gunnar Larsen, Sadie Paige and Hayden Barton, Kayleigh and Clayton Barton, Ryan, Jacob and Beau Barton, Kyrstin Hubbard, Nicki Martini, Ryan, Drew and Alex Pace and two great-great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church. Family will be receiving guests at 9:30 a.m. and a Christian burial mass to follow at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Paul C. Fontanella officiating. The family will provide the flowers and has requested that donations be made to the St. Ann’s Church, 1220 Northway Road, Williamsport, PA 17701 or the Divine Providence Hospital Auxiliary, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA. 17701.

Crouse Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
