Eleanor E. Shaner, 92, of Hughesville, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.
Born August 29, 1915, in Moreland Township, Lycoming County, she was a daughter of the late Albert T. and Mary R. Houseknecht Warn. Her husband of 54 years, Verus L. Shaner, preceded her in death on March 22, 1996.
Eleanor was a graduate of Hughesville High School and was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Lairdsville.
Eleanor lived most of her life on the family farm, a place that was very special to her. She loved the outdoors and providing for and nurturing her many animals. She also enjoyed listening to Country Music.
Eleanor is survived by several nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley E. Warn.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Carla Volland and Paul Shaner officiating. Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
