Formerly of North Versailles
George N. "Sudzy" Sudzina, 88, of North Huntingdon, formerly of North Versailles, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, in Juniper Village, North Huntingdon. He was born Oct. 25, 1922, in Duquesne, son of the late Michael and Mary (Chir) Sudzina. He retired as a top millwright from the blast furnace at U.S. Steel Duquesne Works with 42 years of service. He proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport, a lifetime member of the DAV, member of the Disabled Vets, Chapter 42, in McKeesport, VFW Post 8430, East McKeesport, Duquesne-West Mifflin Knights of Columbus Council No. 4210, and Teutonia Mannerchor Club. He was the beloved husband of the late Regina (Pacacha) Sudzina; father of George Nicholas "Nick" (Pam) Sudzina, of Lakeland, Fla., and Thomas (Suzanne) Sudzina, of North Huntingdon; grandfather of Scott Sudzina and Amanda Westerfeld; great-grandfather of Aaron Westerfeld; and brother of Edward Sudzina, of Irwin, and Brother William J. Sudzina, SJ, of Merion Station. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Sr. Consuella Sudzina, Sisters of Mercy, Elizabeth "Betty" Forgash, Michael Sudsina, Irene Kacey, Helen Petrisko and Mary Shearer; also nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-446-3300. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Robert Bellarmine Church with the Rev. John Brennan officiating. Interment with military honors will be at St. Hedwig Cemetery, West Mifflin.

Text:   Smithgall - Samuel Smithgall, until a year ago a resident of Williamsport, died on Wednesday at Marysville, near Harrisburg, Pa., at the age of 67 years. Funeral services were conducted yesterday in the M. E. Church at Montoursville. He left a son, a sister and five brothers, of whom D.W. resides in Williamsport and William in Lock Haven.
