Death source: Angelina Rose "Angie" Pitcherella, 97, of Coatesville died peacefully Friday, December 5, 2008 at the Gardens of Freedom Village, where she was a resident for the past two years. Born in Coatesville
, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Dallis Pitcherella.
Angie attended Coatesville schools until the 8th grade, when she quit school to work to help her parents financially. She worked at Maytown silk mill, Cardinal Cottons, and for her brother Nick at Nick's News Shop until she retired in 1986 at age 75. She loved to cook and bake big Italian meals especially at the holidays. Angie also loved her flower garden and enjoyed shopping. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, where she was a life member of the Congrega Ladies Society. Angie was a dedicated daughter, a very good sister, a loving aunt and great aunt, and a good friend to everyone especially the staff at Freedom Village, which was her extended family. Her life was for her faith, her family and her friends. She will be missed by everyone.
Surviving her are a sister, Martha Pitcherella and three brothers, Nicholas, Alfred and John, husband of Nancy. Additionally, she is survived by seven nephews; David Pilotti, Joseph, James, Ronald, Thomas, Stephen and Vincent Pitcherella and a niece Marie Martini; 11 great nieces and nephews; a great great niece and a great great nephew. She was preceded in death by a sister, Anne Pilotti and two brothers, James and Anthony.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 10 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Avenue, Coatesville, where family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Coatesville.
In her memory, contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church at the above address.
