Deceased Name: SCHUTTINGER Charles J. Schuttinger
SCHUTTINGER Charles J. Schuttinger, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 5, 2008 surrounded by his family. Charles had been a resident of Columbus since 1992, and prior to that, a longtime resident of Portsmouth, Ohio. He was employed as a pharmaceutical sales representative, and most recently worked at the Dublin Post Office. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles J. and Julia M. (Vujs) Schuttinger and his sister Mary Bocek. His survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Terrie; sons and daughters-in-law, Tye and Teila and Tom and Rachel Schuttinger. "Pone" is also survived by six adoring grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha, Alexandria, Kaylor, Kylie and Morgan; one sister, Dorothy Scarpini; brothers-in-law, Tom and Robert List; and many nieces and nephews. Charles enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, and he encouraged and supported them in their various activities. While living in Portsmouth, Charles was active in the Notre Dame Athletic Association and the Mound Park Eastern Division Youth Baseball league where he coached. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and after moving to Columbus became a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Leigh Cemetery in Seaman, Ohio. Family and friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, OH 43085. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Laps for Life, (J.A.G.), 717 Mountview Drive, Westerville, OH 43081 in Charles' memory.
